About: Rachel comes to the Journal as the business/arts and entertainment reporter. She grew up in Amarillo, Texas and received her associates in journalism from Amarillo College in May 2012. This is Rachel's second time making her home in Cortez, the first time, taking classes at Pueblo Community College and working retail while getting through school. She returned to Texas to finish her degree only to have her love of the outdoors and fear of 110-degree weather lead her back here. She has a passion for music, books and writing and enjoys taking her clumsy Rottweiler, Sir Harrison, on walks through the neighborhood. She lives here in Cortez with her fiance and their adorable daughter. Read More
