Trees cut down near high school and future parking lot

One of the spruce trees in front of Mancos High School was cut down June 1 to make way for a bus loop. Owner’s representative Monty Guiles has said the other tree will remain standing.

The Nowak House north of the Mancos Schools Performance Center, along with the trees around it, has been demolished to make way for a new parking lot. Construction on the site is estimated to last about two years.
