1 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 600 block of South Washington Street on suspicion of felony menacing after a man reported he had waved a large knife at him. The suspect was cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital, due to intoxication, then jailed.

7:18 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 400 block of East Third Street on three warrants for failing to appear on local misdemeanors after police responded to a possible disturbance. A woman who was with him reportedly started screaming and grabbing him when police tried to arrest him, and an officer pulled her from the suspect and handcuffed her. She was later released with no charges.
8:22 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 300 block of South Ash Street on a municipal warrant for failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge.

9:59 a.m.: Police responded to a report of theft in the 10 block of South Market Street. A woman reported a clarinet and a backpack containing an anatomy and physiology textbook had been stolen from her car sometime between 8 and 10 p.m. on March 10, when it was unlocked and parked in the street. The items were valued at $275 total. The case remains under investigation.
5:46 p.m.: A woman was arrested at the Cortez Public Library, 202 N. Park St., on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and violating a protection order after police responded to a report she was trespassing on the property. She reportedly had a bottle of whiskey in her hands and was carrying a backpack that contained three more bottles of alcohol, two syringes and a spoon. One of the syringes contained a small amount of methamphetamine.

5:23 a.m.: A man was arrested on suspicion of trespassing in the 900 block of Memorial Drive after police responded to a report he was knocking on the door of a woman’s vehicle. He was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to severe intoxication.
9:17 a.m.: Police responded to a report of a stolen bicycle in the 1200 block of Montelores Avenue. A man reported his Schwinn bike, valued at $700, had been stolen from his porch sometime between 10 p.m. March 10 and 8 a.m. March 11. The case remains under investigation.
4:45 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 300 block of South Broadway on a warrant for failure to comply on a local misdemeanor charge after police responded to a request for a welfare check on two small children who were reportedly with two adults who appeared intoxicated. The man was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to severe intoxication. Police contacted a sober person to take custody of the children.
5:30 p.m.: A man was arrested outside City Market, 508 E. Main St., on a municipal warrant for failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge. He was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to severe intoxication.
6:42 p.m.: A woman was arrested at the Cortez Public Library, 202 N. Park St., on a warrant for failure to comply on a local misdemeanor charge after library staff reported she had been sleeping in the building.
The Journal
