The 2003 Montezuma-Cortez High School graduate has excelled on the basketball court in Cortez, at Northern Colorado University and Fort Lewis College and all over Europe.
Most recently, he’s been a standout in the Polish Basketball League.
After playing the past two years in Belgium, Archibeque signed with PGE Turow – a professional Polish basketball team based in the city of Zgorzelec – in January.
And in just 13 games with the team, he’s averaging 14.7 points and a team-leading 9.3 rebounds per game.
His play hasn’t gone unnoticed.
After back-to-back double-doubles in wins against Assesco (24 points, 13 rebounds) and Slask Wroclaw (16 points, 13 rebounds), Archibeque was named Eurobasket.com’s Player of the Week for Round 24.
Archibeque’s team is currently 14-13 on the season and in eighth place in the league. After a five-game win-streak, they dropped a one-point contest to Wilki Morskie (94-93) on Saturday. But the Cortez native finished with a team-high 21 points and nine rebounds.
With his team seemingly peaking as the season winds down, Archibeque and PGE Turow have five regular season games remaining as they make a postseason push.
