The town board passed an economic incentive package to encourage development and remodeling on May 14.
The town will reduce some fees for new businesses under 5,000 square feet or remodels by half or up to $3,000.
Through 2015 new businesses get break on sign permit applications, business licenses, zoning development permits and building permits.
Businesses will still be required to pay for impact fees, special use permits, connection or disconnection fees and building inspection fees.
The town is also offering small grants to share the cost of upgrading a store front. The town will split the cost of upgrades with a business owner up to $1000. Businesses are eligible to receive a grant each year through 2016.
The types of projects eligible include painting, replacing awnings, doors, windows, sidewalks and xeriscaping.
The town will require businesses to get two bids for each project and the town will base the reimbursement on the lowest bid.
The town budgeted $5,000 from this year' sales tax revenue to grant to businesses.
