A fire destroyed a home on County Road 32 Friday afternoon.
Fire crews were first alerted to the fire about 1:30 p.m., and the house was fully engulfed by the time they arrived, said Lt. Mike Cabell, of the Cortez Fire Protection District.
The homeowner was injured in the fire, but his injuries were not life-threatening, Cabell said.
Crews worked on putting out small spot fires in the grass and in rubbish piles throughout the property until early evening, he said.
“It definitely did burn very hot,” he said.
Firefighters from Mancos, Dolores and Lewis-Arriola fire departments all responded to the fire, he said.
