Whitewater shares secrets of life on the Dolores River

Whitewater season gives rafters a ‘family reunion’ and shares secrets of undisturbed life along the river
Boating release ending

The inflow of the Dolores River into McPhee Reservoir has peaked, and reservoir managers warned boaters on Wednesday that it was time to get off the river between McPhee Dam and the San Miguel confluence to avoid becoming stranded.
Runoff has dropped significantly, and the rafting release below McPhee dam began ramping down Tuesday afternoon from 800 cubic feet per second. Each day, it will drop about 100 cfs until it drops below 100 cfs. Friday is scheduled for 500 cfs, the minimum flow for most boaters.
