The Cortez chapter of the national weight-loss group Take Off Pounds Sensibly on Aug. 2 retained and installed its officers, according to press release from Leader Judy Echols.
They are Echols, co-leader Vera Jean Charlesworth, secretary Robyn Story and treasurer Donna Watkins. Diane Townley was reappointed weight recorder, and Lillian Allen, assistant weight recorder. Sandy Greene is new-member coach, Sandy Sanderson is program leader, Liddie Rose is charm leader, and Maxine Baumgartner is in charge of measurements.
The award for Most Inspirational member went to Greene, who maintained her Keep Off Pounds Sensibly status for seven consecutive years. She also overcame cancer this year, modeling courage and perseverance.
TOPS meets every Friday at Cortez City Hall, 123 Roger Smith Ave. Weigh-in is at 10:45 a.m., and the group meets at 11:30 a.m.
