1:54 p.m.: A man was arrested on suspicion of first-degree criminal trespass in the 500 block of South Madison Street after a woman reported he was living in her daughter’s apartment without permission. The daughter reportedly said the man had asked if he could stay in her house while she was in Utah for two weeks, and she had denied him permission. But when police entered the apartment, they found bags of clothes, paperwork, a stick of incense and a pot of ramen noodles on the stove, all of which the tenant said did not belong to her. Police secured the apartment and returned after a report that the suspect was trying to enter through a window. They arrested him after he left the apartment carrying a bag of trash.
4:20 p.m.: A woman was arrested in City Park, 802 E. Main St., on suspicion of disorderly conduct and violation of bail bond conditions after police responded to a report of a fight between her and another woman. She was medically cleared due to intoxication. The other woman was also cited on suspicion of disorderly conduct.
Sunday, July 22
1:31 a.m.: A woman was arrested in the parking lot of Angel’s End Zone, 309 N. Broadway, on suspicion of DUI, DUI per se and careless driving after she was pulled over for reportedly speeding and weaving over the center line of Pinon Street.
6:44 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 200 block of East Seventh Street on a misdemeanor warrant.
11:58 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 200 block of South Elm Street on a Chaffee County misdemeanor warrant and on suspicion of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia after he was pulled over for reportedly riding a bike in the dark with no rear lights on it. A glass pipe and a torn plastic bag containing meth were found in his pockets.
Monday, July 23
1:05 a.m.: A man and a woman were arrested in the 200 block of South Madison Street after the woman’s son reported the man was causing a disturbance in their home. Both the man and the woman were reportedly naked and highly intoxicated when police arrived, and the woman had a protection order that prohibited her from drinking. While police were escorting her out of the house, the woman reportedly tried to push an officer away, but tripped over her own feet and fell down. Police initially told the man he could go to a friend’s house to sober up, but when they refused to let him take a household dog with him, he reportedly tried to hit an officer, who pushed him to the ground. He was arrested on suspicion of obstructing a peace officer, and the woman was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order and resisting arrest. They were both medically cleared due to intoxication.
