The Montezuma-Cortez Re-1 School District held a gallery night for gifted and talented students at Manaugh Elementary School on Thursday evening. According to Bernadette Espinoza, coordinator of the program, each school had its own theme, and students were encouraged to study something that interested them.
Leila Thompson, a fourth-grader at Mesa Elementary School, studied Amelia Earhart for her project. “I’ve always thought of her as my hero since I was four,” she said.
