Historic homestead restored in Recapture Wash

Shumway family cabin considered the best example of Mormon outlier
Kay Shumway stands in front of his family’s historic frontier cabin in Recapture Wash, Utah. The 1911 cabin was recently stabilized and restored.
This May, volunteers and archaeologists restored the Shumway Cabin near Blanding, Utah.
A large, dead cottonwood tree threatened to fall on the cabin. It was carefully removed in March by TM Premier Services, of Monticello.
