Hundreds gather at Colorado Capitol to protest Inauguration Day

Some officials promise to protect Coloradan’s values
A crowd gathered Friday on the western steps of the Colorado Capitol to protest the inauguration of President Donald Trump. They were welcomed by state representatives Leslie Herod, D-Denver, and Joe Salazar, D-Denver.
Carol Carpenter, formerly of Durango, said she was marching Friday in Denver because she is concerned about the future of public education and immigrants in the U.S. under the Trump administration.
Arthur Kunkel and Anna Fiorenza moved to Denver from Durango just over a year ago. Kunkel said he was moved to tears by the Inauguration Day protests in downtown Denver.
Stacey Edwardson of Denver said he came out to support President Donald Trump on Friday and was in turn targeted by protesters dressed in all black.
