In response to the letter by Del Denny, I am afraid his reasoning is unlikely, to say the least. Of the 20 states with the highest per capita incomes, 18 voted for Obama. Of the bottom 20 states by per capita income, all but one voted for Romney. Of the top 10 states by education level, all went for Obama. Of the bottom 10 states by education, 9 went for Romney.
There is a clear pattern here. States with better educated voters voted for Obama. States with better economies voted for Obama. Poor, ignorant states went the other way.
