San Juan County, Utah, prosecutors allege the couple tried to deprive cattle of access to water by closing the gate. Now, the ranchers are facing a criminal investigation for their conduct in the confrontation and are not expected to testify at Franklin’s trial Jan. 16 in Price, Utah. Charges against Chilcoat have already been dropped.
