Dr. Andrew Carter and Dr. Susie Kim, cardiologists at Mercy Regional Medical Center, worked to bring the Impella heart pump to the hospital. The heart pump has already saved a patient’s life and kept several patients at Mercy for treatment and care. Before the use of Impella, the patients would have had to travel to the Front Range for more advanced care.
