The volunteer planning committee for the 2017 Ute Mountain-Mesa Verde Birding Festival meets every other Thursday, 10 to 11:30 a.m., upstairs at the Cortez Cultural Center. Upcoming dates are Dec. 15, Jan. 5, and Jan. 19. Anyone interested in assisting may attend.
