Mancos church celebrates Rosa Sabido’s first year in sanctuary

‘I continuously appreciate all the support that I have,’ Sabido says
Rosa Sabido thanks attendees of Saturday’s verbena celebración and invites them to put their burdens and prayers on an altar. “I decided to have the altar because we all always hope for a miracle in our lives,” Sabido said. “It is a miracle that I am still here – that I am still able to resist and fight – and I wanted to offer people the opportunity to request their burdens and dreams because miracles happen.”
An altar quickly filled with prayers, gifts and tokens at the verbena celebración of Rosa Sabido’s 365th day in sanctuary at Mancos United Methodist Church.
The Mancos Creative District gave attendees at the verbena celebración a chance to paint a mural in the spirit of the event. It will be on display in front of the Mancos United Methodist Church.
