The Crow Canyon Archaeological Center and Mesa Verde National Park are teaming up to offer a two-day professional development opportunity exclusively for teachers in the Four Corners region.
On the first day of the two-day session, educators will delve into Pueblo history and archaeology through a hands-on workshop on the Crow Canyon campus. On the second day, educators will explore Mesa Verde National Park — with a special emphasis on potential field trip opportunities.
Participants in the program will receive a $100 per day stipend, and have the opportunity to earn continuing education units while learning about the free curricular resources that are available through Mesa Verde National Park. Participants will also have the chance to provide valuable feedback for future educational program development at Mesa Verde.
All Four Corners-area educators who service grades 3-8 (including special area teachers) are encouraged to apply. The scheduled training dates are:
Third-fourth grades: Aug. 2-3Fifth-sixth grades: Aug. 6-7Seventh-eighth grades: Aug. 9-10To register or to get more information, contact Crow Canyon Archaeological Center educator Cara McCain at [email protected] or call 970-564-4387.
