10:03 p.m.: A man surrendered at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., and was arrested on a Montezuma and a Montrose county warrant.
Monday, May 7
8:34 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 800 block of South Broadway on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and on warrants for failure to appear and to comply. Two syringes loaded with meth were found in his pocket.
3:42 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 300 block of South Broadway on a Montezuma County and municipal warrant after he was walked in and out of traffic. He was medically cleared due to severe intoxication.
4:38 p.m.: A man was arrested at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., on two municipal warrants for failure to appear after employees said he had put on several pairs of pants from the store without paying for them.
Tuesday, May 8
3:14 a.m.: An employee was cited on suspicion of theft at Denny’s, 2059 E. Main St., after a manager said he suspected him of stealing $280 from the cash register. When contacted by police, the man reportedly said the manager was the one who stole the cash. Surveillance video showed the employee taking a $100 bill the previous night, but police were unable to find evidence he had stolen anything else from the store.
Wednesday, May 9
1:07 a.m.: A woman turned herself in at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., and was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge.
11:05 a.m.: A woman was arrested at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., on a warrant for failure to comply.
4:31 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 200 block of North Park Street on suspicion of driving under restraint and weaving after he was pulled over for driving in the center of the road. The arresting deputy later requested the second charge be changed to driving on the wrong side of the road.
Thursday, May 10
5:50 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 2000 block of East Main Street on suspicion of DUI and failing to signal as required. He was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to intoxication.
10:09 a.m.: Police responded to a report of theft in the 800 block of South Market Street. A woman said she believed her purse, which contained her and her son’s social security cards and a credit and debit card, had been stolen out of her unlocked vehicle sometime after 8:30 p.m. on May 8. Later in the day, she contacted police again to say she had found the purse at her doctor’s office.
12:31 p.m.: A man was cited outside Beech Street Preschool, 510 N. Beech St., on suspicion of harassment and disorderly conduct after a parent reported he had yelled profanities at her while she was picking up her child. The man told police he was telling the woman to slow down because she had been speeding.
6:06 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 1600 block of East Empire Street on suspicion of violating bond conditions and a protection order after police responded to a report he was harassing a woman. The woman reportedly said he hadn’t been bothering her, but he did show signs of intoxication in violation of his bond and protection order. He was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital.
6:42 p.m.: A man was arrested at the Cortez Public Library, 202 N. Park St., on suspicion of violating a protection order and bail bond conditions after he was found unconscious in the restroom. While he was being medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital, he reportedly spat on hospital staff, and they put a spit hood over his head. He reportedly had to be picked up and put in the patrol vehicle on the way to the jail.
9:22 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 600 block of East Second Street on a felony warrant from San Juan County, Utah, after police responded to a report of a disturbance between her and a neighbor.
Friday, May 11
3:01 a.m.: A man was arrested at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., on three municipal warrants and on suspicion of trespassing.
11:49 a.m.: A woman was cited on suspicion of theft at Centennial Park, 800 E. Montezuma Ave., after another woman reported she had stolen $123 in cash out of her wallet. When confronted by police, the suspect turned over $3 in change she said she had taken from the wallet, but no other cash was found.
4:08 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 300 block of South Broadway on a warrant for failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge.
Saturday, May 12
3:13 a.m.: A man was cited on suspicion of DUI, DUI per se, speeding and improper use of a turn signal in the 300 block of West Main Street after he was pulled over for reportedly driving 35 mph in a 25 mph zone.
4:04 a.m.: A woman was cited in the 10 block of South Beech Street on suspicion of driving while impaired and failing to use a turn signal. She reportedly said she had been driving her friends to Blondie’s Trophy Room and Angel’s End Zone, where one of them had been in a fight.
10:51 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 300 block of North Sligo Street on suspicion of DUI, driving under restraint and a protection order violation, and on a warrant for contempt of court after he was pulled over for failing to stop at a stop sign. Several open bottles of whiskey were reportedly visible in his car when he was pulled over.
Sunday, May 13
2:30 p.m.: Police responded to a report of a stolen bicycle in the 800 block of Balsam Street. A woman reported her son’s black and gold BMX bike had been stolen from their front yard sometime between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. The case remains under investigation.
