Editor:
Nice article on the campaign finance of the 3B issue, but I do find one thing puzzling, why the article did not mention where the other 50 percent of contributions originated from. Why is this? Perhaps it was the facts that got in the way? The Cortez Journal donated $2,500 and the Montezuma Economic Development donated $7,500. My momma taught me that an omission of the truth is still an untruth!
I think the newspaper and its reporters are totally biased and using their positions to influence not only the elections but everything in our community. What happened to doing your research and reporting the facts? The paper should not endorse any candidate nor any issue, simple facts please! Also, I have not seen once in your reporting what was brought up at a local meeting concerning the 3B issue was a possible conflict with the new high school and the Sewer District. What I took away from this meeting was that the powers that be did not look into all facets of the location and that there may not be enough capacity in the sewer lines for the school without major upgrades. Someone dropped the ball!
My point is please keep your opinions to yourselves and give all the facts to your readers so that we make well informed decisions.

Editors note: According to the story published in the Oct. 20 Journal, contributions of $500 or more account for $19,750 (91%) of the $21,750 that had been raised by the committee by the mid-October state reporting deadline. All of those contributors, including MCEDA and the Journal, were named in the story.
