3:36 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 40 block of North Edith Street on suspicion of violating a protection order after a report of a fight between him and his girlfriend. The girlfriend told police they were not fighting – she was holding him up because he was too intoxicated to walk. The suspect was cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to intoxication, then jailed.

Thursday, April 5

2:56 p.m.: A woman was arrested at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., on a warrant for failure to appear.

5:04 p.m.: Two men were arrested in City Park, 802 E. Main St., on suspicion of disturbing the peace after police broke up an apparent fight between them. Both men were cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to intoxication. One was also bleeding from the mouth.

7:40 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 500 block of North Elm Street on suspicion of violating bond conditions, two counts of protection order violation, second-degree trespassing and domestic violence after his son reported he had entered his and his mother’s property in violation of a protection order. After a search through the neighborhood, police found the man in another woman’s residence. Although his son originally reported the man had a gun, police did not find one in his possession.

Friday, April 6

9:51 a.m.: A woman was arrested at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., on a warrant for failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge.

7:15 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 500 block of East Main Street on suspicion of indecent exposure after reportedly urinating on the sidewalk with several other pedestrians nearby. He was cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to intoxication.

9:18 p.m.: A man was cited on suspicion of shoplifting at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., after employees said he tried to steal three FitBit wristbands and baby clothing, valued at $172.47. He told police he didn’t take anything, but a package of socks fell out of his jacket sleeve while he spoke with officers. Two FitBits and the baby clothing were found on his person.

Saturday, April 7

12:26 a.m.: A man was cited on suspicion of failing to use turn signals and driving while impaired in the 400 block of East Second Street.

1:04 a.m.: A man was arrested outside McDonald’s, 1322 E. Main St., on suspicion of DUI after employees reported he and another man were harassing them in the drive-thru.

2:59 a.m.: A woman was cited on suspicion of DUI, DUI per se, driving under restraint and weaving after she reportedly ran over the curb in the 1 block of North Chestnut Street.

1:09 p.m.: A woman was arrested in Parque de Vida, 400 N. Mildred Road, on a warrant for failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge after police checked on her welfare because of a report she had fallen down. She was treated at Southwest Memorial Hospital for a scrape on her knee.

5:22 p.m.: A man was cited on suspicion of shoplifting at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., after employees said he tried to steal two Lego sets, valued at $18.74 total.

8:28 p.m.: A man was arrested in City Park, 802 E. Main St., on suspicion of violating bail bond conditions after police found him unconscious on the ground. He was cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to intoxication.

10:43 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 20 block of West Third Street on a felony warrant and on suspicion of domestic violence, third-degree assault, harassment and violating a protection order after he allegedly pushed his girlfriend to the floor, chased her to their neighbor’s house and punched her in the face. The woman reportedly had bruised arms and cuts on her right shoulder and knee. The suspect was cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to intoxication.

11:46 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 600 block of East Empire Street on suspicion of trespassing after a resident reported she was banging on their door. She was cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to intoxication.

Sunday, April 8

1:33 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 500 block of South Broadway on suspicion of DUI, DUI per se and careless driving after he reportedly hit a median sign.

2:05 a.m.: A man was arrested at Travelodge, 1120 E. Main St., on suspicion of violating a protection order after other guests reported he was harassing them. He was cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to intoxication.

1:23 p.m.: A man was arrested at City Market, 508 E. Main St., on suspicion of trespassing. He was cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to intoxication.

Monday, April 9

5:46 a.m.: Police responded to a report of a man trespassing at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 28 E. Montezuma Ave. Officers reportedly stopped the man behind a garage, but he jumped a fence and ran into a yard north of the church. The officers weren’t able to catch up with him. They decided to issue him a summons for trespassing when he is found.

7:34 a.m.: Police responded to a report of vandalism at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. An employee reported his car’s rear windows had been cut open and his handicap placard and vehicle registration were missing. The case remains under investigation.

10:31 a.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., on a warrant for failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge.

11:41 p.m.: Two men and two women were arrested in the 2500 block of East Main Street after a confidential source reported a group of people were planning to transport heroin from Cortez to Durango. Officers and Colorado State Patrol troopers pulled over a vehicle in the 29000 block of U.S. Highway 160 that matched the source’s description and found a large amount of meth and heroin concealed in a magnet attached to its undercarriage, although the driver and passenger did not match the description of the suspects. One of the original suspects was found in another vehicle on East Main Street, reportedly carrying a locked briefcase that officers suspected to contain drugs after a K9 sniffed it. The man with the briefcase was arrested on three warrants from Montezuma and Montrose counties. A female passenger was arrested on two La Plata County warrants, and on suspicion of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and first-degree introduction of contraband after a bag of meth was found on her person in the jail. A male passenger from the first car was arrested on suspicion of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance. Another female passenger from the second vehicle was arrested by state troopers on multiple felony warrants.

Tuesday, April 10

3:31 p.m.: Police responded to a report of criminal mischief in the 200 block of East Third Street. A man reported someone had shattered a window in his vehicle with a rock between 2:15 and 2:30 p.m., causing about $175 in damage.

7:56 p.m.: A man was cited on suspicion of third-degree assault and harassment at City Market, 508 E. Main St., after another man reported he had punched him in the face. The other man was treated at Southwest Memorial Hospital for a bloody nose and a cut on the head.
