The Colorado Department of Transportation will start a road repair project on April 23 on Colorado Highway 184.
The project consists of placing heated crack sealant into cracks on highways at several locations throughout Southwest Colorado over the duration of several weeks. The work is designed to help improve and prolong the life of the roadway.
The road maintenance will take place during the following weeks at these locations:
April 9-17: U.S. Highway 550 in Durango at mileposts 28.20-37.30.
April 18-20: U.S. 550 in Ridgway at mileposts 107-113.
April 23-May 4: Colorado Highway 184 from Dolores to Mancos at mileposts 8.9-26.6.
May 7-15: Colorado Highway 141 in Nucla/Naturita, at mileposts 74-88.
Drivers may encounter alternating, one-lane traffic during the project with delays of up to 10 minutes. A pilot car will escort vehicles through the work zone from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Travelers are urged to follow work zone signage, follow directions from flaggers and the pilot car and be patient.
