1:51 a.m.: A man was arrested at City Market, 508 E. Main St., on suspicion of third-degree assault after a report that he and another man had attacked a man earlier in the evening, causing cuts and bruises on his head and face. The suspect was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to intoxication. Police cited the other suspect, who required treatment for alcohol-related problems.

6:08 p.m.: A woman was arrested at City Park, 800 E. Main St., on suspicion of domestic violence and harassment after a report of a fight in the area. The woman’s boyfriend reported she ripped his shirt and scratched his chest. During the arrest, the woman reportedly screamed and yelled, saying she loved the man and wanted to marry him. She was cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to intoxication.

6:39 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 500 block of South Madison Street on suspicion of violating bail bond conditions and a protection order after a report of a loud argument coming from the apartment of the woman with the protection order.

10:21 p.m.: A woman was cited on suspicion of shoplifting at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., after employees reported she removed price tags and concealed them in her purse. Earrings, a necklace, a few shirts, a bra, two pairs of shoes and a wastebasket, valued at $130.06 total, were reportedly stolen.

Saturday, March 31

1:10 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 2600 block of Trinity Avenue on a felony warrant for failure to appear on a possession of a controlled substance charge, and on suspicion of vehicular eluding, driving under restraint, reckless driving and obstructing a police officer after an officer attempted to pull him over for driving with invalid license plates. The man reportedly led the officer on a chase from the 2400 block of East Main Street to Trinity Avenue, where he turned too fast and rolled his vehicle onto its side. The officer approached his vehicle with a gun drawn and ordered the suspect to get out, but he reportedly jumped out of the driver’s side window and ran. The officer caught and tackled the man. A spent casing and a rifle round were reportedly found in the man’s vehicle. During the chase, he reportedly ran over a mailbox, causing about $100 in damage. The suspect was treated at Southwest Memorial Hospital for minor cuts and bruises. The officer suffered scrapes on his hand and knee from tackling him.

9:52 a.m.: A man in the 400 block of East Main Street reported $700 in cash had been taken from his wallet after he was arrested on March 26, and said he suspected the two people who had been drinking with him that night. The man reportedly changed his story, and officers found no evidence the people had stolen anything.

7:27 p.m.: A man was cited on suspicion of driving an uninsured vehicle and displaying expired number plates in the 1000 block of South Oak Street after he was pulled over on suspicion of speeding. He then started yelling and crying, saying he was going to jail. He had reportedly been cited earlier in the day for driving without insurance. He reportedly said that he had been speeding because he was afraid his truck would break down if he didn’t.

9:18 p.m.: A man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., after employees reported he had stolen a $129 bicycle. He reportedly said he took it because he owed $40 to a Mexican cartel. He was cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to intoxication.

10:40 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 1300 block of East Main Street on suspicion of driving under restraint and displaying an expired number plate.

Sunday, April 1

12:37 a.m.: A woman was arrested at Mesa Verde Inn, 640 S. Broadway, on suspicion of third-degree assault, domestic violence and harassment after a report of a fight between her and her boyfriend. The man reported the woman had ripped his shirt and scratched his throat and shoulder during an argument about whether he was having an affair.

8:48 a.m.: A man in the 400 block of South Linden Street reported his BMX bike, valued at $250, had gone missing from his backyard between 12:30 and 8:20 a.m. The case remains under investigation.

3:26 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 600 block of South Washington Street on suspicion of violating bail bond conditions and two protection orders after a report that he was under the influence of drugs and alcohol, in violation of his parole.

Monday, April 2

1:22 a.m.: A woman was arrested in the 10 block of West First Street on suspicion of DUI, driving under restraint, weaving and violating a protection order after she was pulled over for driving with defective license plate lights and almost hitting the curb. She was cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to intoxication, and reportedly shouted profanities at officers and medical staff.

4:30 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 300 block of South Madison Street on a warrant for failure to comply and on suspicion of driving under restraint, failing to stop at a stop sign, operating an uninsured vehicle and displaying expired number plates. He reportedly led officers on a brief chase before stopping near an apartment complex.

5:43 p.m.: A female employee was cited on suspicion of shoplifting at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., after an employee reported she stole three bags of ice cream, valued at $14.64 total.

7:17 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 100 block of South Mildred Road on two warrants for failure to appear on local misdemeanor charges, and on suspicion of violating a protection order, after apparently being intoxicated in the roadway. He was cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to intoxication.

9:11 p.m.: A woman at Montezuma-Cortez High School, 418 S. Sligo St., reported the $40 was taken from her vehicle between 6:30 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. She wasn’t sure the vehicle had been locked, but when she returned to her vehicle at 8:45 p.m., the back cargo door was ajar. The case remains under investigation.

11:42 p.m.: A man was arrested at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., on suspicion of violating bond conditions, theft, third-degree trespassing, resisting arrest and violating a court order after employees reported that he stole a backpack and bicycle, valued at $138.97 total. He was found on Seventh Street, riding a bike that fit employees’ description. Officers took the bike and backpack, and the suspect ran. An officer caught and tackled him. A small package of marijuana was found in his sock, and a can of beer in his possession. Police transported him to Southwest Memorial Hospital because he reportedly showed signs of being under the influence of meth, but he reportedly tried to headbutt an officer at the hospital, and was transported immediately to jail.

Tuesday, April 3

9:49 a.m.: The Salvation Army Thrift Store, 201 Piñon Drive, reported someone broke a window in the store. The case remains under investigation.

4:45 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 500 block of South Madison Street on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge. She was cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to intoxication.

8:10 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 10 block of South Maple Street on suspicion of DUI, turning left in front of approaching traffic and possessing an open container of alcohol in a vehicle. He was cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to severe intoxication.

9:18 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the Front Row Seat parking lot, 508 E. Main St., on suspicion of third-degree assault, harassment and domestic violence after police responded to a report she had hit her boyfriend with a rock. She reportedly told responding officers her boyfriend had been pushing her, so she hit him back. The boyfriend, who was bleeding from the mouth, was also arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order and disorderly conduct.
