FireWise of Southwest Colorado will hold a Weber Fire tour of East Canyon that is open to the public. The free tour with experts from the fire will be offered Saturday, Oct. 6. People wanting to take the tour should meet at the Mancos Fire Station at 8:30 a.m. or at 9 a.m. at the top of Mancos Hill at Highway 160 and Road 46.
The tour will give residents the opportunity to see the impact of wildfire mitigation. Its also a chance for people to see the difference mitigation made for residents and firefighters when the Weber Fire entered East Canyon earlier this summer.
The Weber Fire started on June 22 and burned more than 10,000 acres.
