How naive I have been in my old age. I have begun writing to my congressmen via email rather than calling or writing to them through the U.S. mail the past few years thinking it was the same.
Usually, I receive a standard reply to my concerns and have felt that at least some staffer is actually reading my emails and keeping track of particular concerns. Now, I have realized that no one is really reading them at all.
I sent a one-sentence question to Rep. Scott Tipton and both Colorado senators regarding the nonprofit status of the National Rifle Association. I received a long standard reply that did not answer my question from Rep. Tipton, and weeks later, still have not received a reply from either senator.
How are constituents supposed to address our concerns or doesn’t it matter anymore?
