Just this week, Jakob helped Cortez High School secure the 4A Western Slope Regional Tournament title with his golf skills. Jakobs father is the golf pro at Conquistador Golf Course in Cortez. Jakob says he has been golfing since he could hold a club and plays for Cortez because Dolores does not have a golf team. He hopes his team can win state this year, which is Oct. 1 and 2 in Montrose at Cobble Creek Golf Course. The team got fourth in state last year. One other Dolores High School student plays on the Cortez golf team and that is Hayden Plewe.
