The volunteer coordinator for the Southwestern Colorado AARP Safe Driver Program in Durango recently resigned, and a new coordinator is needed.
Volunteers teach four-hour safe-driver courses for seniors to give updates on driving regulations, safe-driving strategies and the effects of aging on driving performance.
Volunteers will be reimbursed for training and students have opportunities to receive vehicle insurance discounts.
Applicants should have good speaking, communication and computer skills and a desire to help seniors drive safely.
To volunteer and for more information, call or email Jack Philp, Western Colorado Safe Driver program coordinator, at 639-24331 or [email protected].
