Artisanal cider showcases region’s apple heritage
Outlier Cellar’s tasting room overlooks the Mancos River as it flows through the heart of town. The cidery held its grand opening Feb. 24 and featured Mancos rock band The Afrobeatniks. Owners Neal Wight and Sam Perry estimate about 300 people attended.
Outlier Cellars has a number of its own ciders on tap as well as guest ciders from elsewhere in Colorado.
Outlier Cellars specializes in cold, slow fermentation techniques. Fermentations can last up to four months.

Its hour are:
Monday and Tuesday: Closed, tasting by appointment only
Wednesday: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Thursday: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Friday: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Saturday: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Sunday: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
