The Sunflower Theatre welcomes back the Four Corners Roma music band Carute Roma on Saturday, March 3, at 7 p.m.
Carute Roma combines classic Roma songs with original tunes and modern dance-oriented and “Gypsy-punk” styles, according to a news release by the Sunflower Theatre. Fiddle, accordion and trumpet are backed by guitar, bass and drums while being led by vocal harmonies in six languages.
“Carute Roma, or ‘Gypsy Wagon,’ definitely brings the party,” the theater said.
The band’s full-length album, “Gadjo Caravan,” includes a range of musical genres from the swinging “C’est Pa Grave” to the Russian love song “Korobushka” and original tunes like “Nyet” and “Immigrant Song.”
Doors and cash bar open at 6:15 p.m., and the music begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door, and are available at www.sunflowertheatre.org.
The theater is at Main and Market streets in Cortez.
