Knocker Softball Rendezvous
Knocker Athletic Club is hosting the Knocker Softball Rendezvous at Hartman Sports Park in Aztec, N.M., on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 14-15. Its coed and mens brackets. Balls and bats provided, but people can swing their own bats. Its a three-game guarantee. Tourney entry fee is $175. Awards are based on number of teams. Champions win 14 Champion Dri-Fit shirts. Cortez River Run for Orphans
The first ever Cortez River Run for Orphans will be Saturday, Sept. 15, at Parque de Vida. There will be a 5K and 1-mile fun run/walk. Race day registration starts at 8:30 a.m., with the 1-mile taking off at 10 and the 5K at 10:30. Money will be used to provide orphans with resources such as food, clothing, education, vocational training, proper nutrition and most importantly, a permanent loving family. Every participating school, church or community group decides where to send the money that they raise. The Cortez River Run for Orphans precedes the Reach Out Music Festival.
