The town of Mancos could be going solar for its new wastewater treatment plant. In last weeks meeting, the town board heard from Brian Morrison, a representative of Red Wagon Energy, a small business here in Mancos that links users with reliable and sustainable renewable energy solutions. Morrison specializes in offshore conservation management, bringing lots of experience and knowledge to the business. He explained how a solar canopy could generate a savings of up to $2,400 annually.

The Dolores County Planning Commission voted to approve an application to build eight small luxury tents at the Cresto Ranch which is located four miles down the Dolores River from Dunton. Duntons owner Christoph Hinkle came to the July Planning Commission meeting and brought a set of plans that showed details of the platforms the tents will be built on. Each tent will have running water and a bathroom and a cook will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner in a farmhouse near the tents.
