After school help

DAN AND DOREEN Jones, from the Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church, present a $500 check to Dolores School District Superintendent Scott Cooper. The contribution is to support the Dolores Elementary after school program. Cooper said he was thrilled with the presentation.
“I am very grateful the United Methodist Church stepped up to support our after school program,” he said. “It is a wonderful thing.”
In addition, the church has pledged three or four volunteers to help with the after school program on early-release Wednesdays, something about 80 children are scheduled to participate in.
The money will be used to purchase snacks for the children participating in the program.
