Navajo President Russell Begaye testified Tuesday against a bill that is part of the dismantling of the Bears Ears National Monument designated in 2016.
San Juan County Commissioner Rebecca Benally testified in favor of a bill that would replace Bear Ears with two smaller monuments.
Regina Lopez-Whiteskunk, of the Ute Mountain Ute tribe, testified against a bill that drastically shrinks the boundaries of the Bears Ears National Monument.
