After a short break, the Four Corners Community Band resumed practice on Jan. 22. We practice every Monday night, from 6:30 until 8:30, at the First Baptist Church. We are a “concert band,” made up of flutes, clarinets, trumpets, saxes, baritones, trombones, oboe and percussion. The only requirement is the ability to play music of a high school level.
There is an annual $25 dues to be a member, and the band will provide you with all music, a music stand for rehearsal, and a band folder. We will try to help you find an instrument.
We have grown significantly in both size and ability during the past year, and we perform throughout the Four Corners area, including Mancos Days, the Ag Expo, Escalante Days, the Rico Fourth of July celebration, and many more. We also have regular social events, such as a potluck and a Christmas party.
You are welcome to come and observe a practice before deciding. If you need further information, call me at 565-9804.
