The Colorado Archaeology Society Hisatsinom Chapter will hold a talk by David Dove, called “Why the Feast? Regional Economics and Social Dynamics in Southeast Utah and Southwest Colorado” at 7 p.m. Feb. 6 at First United Methodist Church, 515 Park St., in Cortez.
Dove will discuss the San Juan Red Ware pottery economy and ways that pots have moved around the landscape, with a focus on feasting and down-the-line trade.
