We live in a small community that relies on businesses to employ locally, which in turn builds our community.
When big businesses such as Empire Electric decide to hire out-of-town companies to do the work of their employees because they want to save a buck, it hurts everyone.
Our community deserves to know that Empire Electric is hiring a company out of Minnesota to start taking our calls when we have an outage. Why should we have to call Minnesota to have them call our local lineman? Isn’t that why they built a state-of-the-art dispatch center in that new operations building? Do they even know our area to dispatch our lineman to the correct place?
It’s sad to see a business that is directly involved with the growth of this community give their employees’ jobs away to a company out of Minnesota.
