At the regular Rico Town Board meeting held on July 18, under public comment Dick Lanning brought up some issues that should be available to the public such as the budget, treasurers report and a work plan. Mayor David Kunz commented that they are all on the website and available at the town board meetings. Suggestion was made to possibly having an informal town meeting with the community. Comment was to have work session instead of an informal meeting. The broadcasting of the meeting was brought up and Mr. Lanning stated that will still happen.
Public Works Dennis Swank reported that the town is looking for a backhoe and presented some brochures. Mr. Swank stated he has been watering the lawn at the town park and keeping it clean and mowing the grass. The courthouse building is having some problems with the septic tank and needs to repair the lid. Mr. Swank reports he is working on some water meters and replacing some old meters. The town helped locate some water line for BWR to put in a tie for the new water line. Mr. Swank said he took a week off for some vacation time.
Under Old Business Procyclist Tour in August 2012 was briefly discussed in regards to the race and traffic through Rico. Mayor David Kunz stated that he will get someone from Telluride or Mountain Village to contact the town. Town Manager Michael England stated he will report back to the board after he talks with someone about the tour.
Under New Business Town Clerk Linda Yellowman reported that Liam Chamberlain is the new owner of Mountain Top Fuel and Market. Mr. Chamberlain is applying for transfer of ownership for the liquor store. Ms. Yellowman stated all the paperwork is in order and recommends to the Board for approval. The Town Board approved the Colorado Liquor Retail License application for transfer of ownership for Mountain Top Fuel and Market as submitted.
The Consideration of Resolution No. 2012-3, Resolution to Temporarily Suspend Camping Restrictions Within the Town of Rico from August 19-21, 2012 for the ProCyclist Bike Tour was presented for approval. The Members of the Town Board reviewed the resolution and approved it.

All dogs are required to be registered with the Town of Rico, contact Town Clerk Linda Yellowman at 970-967-2861 or stop by the Town Hall with a copy of your dogs rabies certificate.
