The annual Gingerbread Auction to benefit Grace’s Soup Kitchen for St. Barnabas Episcopal Church was held on Dec. 7.
Organizer Leigh Waggoner, who started the event three years ago, said nearly $1,200 was raised for the soup kitchen.
New to the competition this year was The Piñon Project, which tied with Karly Frazier for first place in the adult category. Also new to the competition was a cooking class from Montezuma-Cortez High School.
According to Waggoner, the winners and winning bids were as follows:

Dolores State Bank was top bidder and is displaying the house at the bank, 744 E Main StAbsolute Bakery in Mancos was first in professional category. Town and Country Furniture was the top bidder, and is displaying the house at the store, at 38 N. Linden St.Cortez 4-H was first in the youth category. Stan Pierce was top bidder.
