The Colorado Department of Transportation will perform culvert repairs from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday on Highway 145, north of the U.S. Highway 160 intersection in Cortez, between mile markers 1 and 2.
Operations will include replacing the culvert lining, which requires the excavation of the road shoulder. Most of the work will take place on the roadside. However, because workers will be in close proximity to highway traffic, the speed limit will be reduced to 40 mph in the work zone.
Motorists may encounter intermittent lane shifts, closures and 15- to 20-minute traffic stops. Travelers are urged to follow signs and speed reductions in the work zone and be aware of flaggers, maintenance workers and heavy equipment on and near the highway.
