A report from the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center shows that if the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act is passed, half of Americans would pay more in taxes.
The report states that: “On average ... taxes would rise modestly for the lowest-income group, change little for middle-income groups, and decrease for higher-income groups. Compared to current law, 9 percent of taxpayers would pay more in 2019, 12 percent in 2025, and 50 percent in 2027.”
This is unacceptable. This is “Voodoo Economics” gone bad and everyone knows that trickle-down economics does not work. It never has. On top of this, average Americans will have to deal with massive cuts to Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid while the act provides loopholes to Wall Street.
Sen. Cory Gardner needs to go public with his opposition to the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act that will raise taxes on lower and middle class Americans. The senator has an obligation to represent the majority of his constituents and not the few rich GOP donors.
