Congress should really stop talking about entitlements, because it is a misnomer; there is nothing in this world for free. One would think that they could think of another, more sophisticated, plan. It is a well-known fact that Congress stole $2.5 trillion from our Social Security Trust Funds during the Johnson Administration, replacing it with IOUs, having no intention of repaying our benefit savings account. We have worked hard throughout our lives to build a savings account through FICA tax deductions for our golden years, and now they want to take that away from us. Congress may possibly be currently commingling our Social Security Trust funds with their general funds. Call your House and Senate officials ask them. You probably know what they will say, so remind them that its not a good thing to lie under oath.
Now, lets address the Medicare program. Approximately $100 is deducted from our monthly Social Security Trust Fund benefits for Medicare; additionally, we are forced to make co-payments for our health care and medical needs. Therefore, how could anyone in his right mind believe Congressional scare tactics that the program is going broke?
How can congressional employees sleep at night when they pay a pittance for their full medical benefits, while the middle class and poor are struggling to stay afloat?
Your complacency could force us out in the streets under the buses. Do you think Congress will be kind enough to give us welfare during our golden years? Not likely.
Join the fight to stop the loss of our rightful benefits. Dont let them raise the age limit or FICA tax. Flood all of our congressional servants with mail every week, along with telephone calls, to keep their hands off of our hard-earned Social Security savings account funds. Tell them to cut their unearned $17,500 monthly salaries in half to do their part to start paying down the national debt which they created. A little time and money on your part now may be worthwhile.
