Mancos will hold its annual Giving Tree program throughout the holiday season.
The program is a way to help families in need, anonymously.
Forms for needy families, not always filled out by the families themselves, are available for pickup at Mancos Valley Visitor Center, Dolores States Bank, Mancos Schools and the Mancos Public Library.
Forms are due by Nov. 18.
“What happens on our end is we will receive a tree with anonymous tags and a list of all the things that person is hoping to get for Christmas, and patrons can pick a tag off the tree,” Lee Hallberg, executive director of the library, said. “They can buy the items and give them to the committee to be distributed.”
Five trees will be set up around Mancos as P&D, Zuma, the bank, the library and the Columbine, according to a news release.
Financial contributions are welcome as well as gifts and ornaments.
Volunteers are needed to wrap and process gifts.
The Giving Tree Committee hopes to have all gifts delivered to families by Dec. 21.
