People who are seeking gift ideas or ways to give back this holiday season are encouraged to donate to the U.S. Forest Service Plant-a-Tree program to help reforest areas of the San Juan National Forest that have been impacted by fires or other natural disturbances.
The minimum donation accepted will be $10, and those who donate will receive a certificate with information about the number of seedlings to be planted.
Donations can be made in person at San Juan National Forest offices in Durango, Bayfield, Dolores and Pagosa Springs.
Credit card donations can be submitted by phone, and checks, payable to USDA Forest Service with “Plant-a-Tree, San Juan National Forest” on the memo line, should be mailed to: San Juan National Forest Plant-A-Tree coordinator, 15 Burnett Court, Durango, CO 81301.
