Methane levels spike in man’s water near Ignacio

Resident searches for cause, source of pollution
Darryl Adams says that recent testing revealed dangerous levels of methane in his groundwater, which comes from a well on his property northwest of Ignacio. “They told me it’s at explosive levels and you should consider getting out.” he says.
Darryl Adams’ house on County Road 314 northwest of Ignacio is surrounded by at least eight oil and gas wells within a 300-foot radius. A consultant for BP American Production Co. determined that there wasn’t any link between the gas composition found in BP’s wells and that found in Adams’ well water.
