Hydroponic farm harvesting greens year-round

Peak Season Farms provides greens to restaurants in four seasons
Tim Turner, owner of Zia Taqueria, right, listens as Wendy Wyatt of Peak Season Farms explains the growing process for Swiss chard. Wyatt grows a variety of salad greens hydroponically in modified shipping containers.
Peak Season Farm’s greens grow by the light of red and blue LEDs. Wendy Wyatt purchased the farm in a container known as a Leafy Green Machine from Freight Farms, a Boston-based business. It is a hydroponic system that provides a nearly perfect environment for plants.
Peak Season Farms has 4,000 plants suspended from the ceiling in its container farm on County Road 119. The farm also has 3,600 seedlings.
Zia Taqueria recently bought one of the Leafy Green Machines made by Freight Farms so Wendy Wyatt could grow produce for the restaurant.
