Furse and his supporters may think discovery issues are critical to undermining the Wasley campaign. They are wrong. Discovery charges are typical defense attorney tactics used in the coutroom to challenge the prosecution when the defense has no case. This same tactic is being used now in the district attorney race. Furse has no prosecution experience and is not qualified for the job he is seeking. Of course he has to attack our current DA. He has nothing else to run on.
A trial (and its surrounding case) is rarely a perfect science. There are many pieces to the puzzle including the judge, the prosecution, the defense attorney, the defendant, evidence, witnesses, law enforcement and finally the jury. It is not an easy job keeping all these moving pieces together. When things go wrong the head man/woman takes the blame. Just think, if this happens to an experienced and competent DA, what will be the results when it happens (and it will happen) to a completely inexperienced attorney who has no felony jury trial experience.
District 22 voters can see the smoke-and-mirror distraction of discovery allegations. As a practicing attorney for over 30 years, I urge the voters of District 22 not to be swayed by this campaign tactic.
Vote to re-elect District Attorney Russell Wasley in this primary election.
