Home & Range presents an exhibit featuring Carole Graham’s wet plate collodion photographs alongside historic William Henry Jackson photochroms on Thursday, Nov. 2, from 5-8 p.m.
Collodion photography, which was used during the Civil War era, involves printing in the field onto metal plates. Graham uses this historic process to document archaeological sites, still lifes, and other scenes from Southwest Colorado.
Joining Graham’s work will be a collection of William Henry Jackson photochrom prints made in the 1890s from his iconic images of the West, according to a news release from Rosie Carter.
An artist’s reception is planned for Thursday, Nov. 2, from 5-8 p.m.
Home & Range is at 2409 E Empire St. in Cortez. For more information, call Rosie Carter at 970-739-8997.
