A Dolores man accused of causing the death of his infant daughter has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, violation of bond conditions, lane usage violations and driving without insurance.
According to an officer report, on Tuesday, May 22, around 10:30 p.m., a deputy traveling on Highway 491 observed a sedan in front of him weaving and crossing over the lane divider.
The deputy pulled the car over and identified 19-year-old Dylan Kuhn as the driver. The driver alledgely continually fumbled through a stack of paperwork from the glove box, which he dropped on the floor.
Kuhn gave the deputy his license and registration and said he didnt have the insurance. He allegedly exhibited several physical signs of being under the influence of drugs, and told the deputy he had smoked a bowl of marijuana about three hours before.
When asked if he had a medical marijuana card, he stated that he hadnt renewed it yet.
He was placed under arrest after failing a roadside sobriety test.
He reportedly told the officer that I will never smoke marijuana again. I have a case pending. You dont understand they are going to send me to prison.
The subject asked the deputy three times to let him go, who told him that he couldnt. The officer reported that Kuhn was visibly upset and declined additional testing.
Kuhn was taken to the Montezuma County Jail.
