3:22 p.m.: Police assisted FBI and Bureau of Indian Affairs agents in arresting a man on an active federal warrant at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.
11:39 p.m.: A woman was arrested at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., on a New Mexico warrant for failure to appear after store employees claimed she and two other people had tried to steal several items from the store. The items were reportedly recovered, and the store did not press charges.
Thursday, Oct. 12
9:37 a.m.: A woman was cited in the 200 block of South Madison Street for owning too many dogs without a license. She reportedly had about 12 dogs, including a litter of puppies, living on her property. When animal control officers told her she needed to reduce the number of dogs to four in order to comply with city regulations, she reportedly said she would not give up any of her dogs and would move instead.
3:44 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 300 block of South Maple Street on suspicion of unlawfully possessing a controlled substance and improper use of turn signals. About 4.5 grams of meth were found in a container in his vehicle.
4:15 p.m.: A woman was issued a summons for trespassing and interfering with officers in the 900 block of North Chestnut Street after she reportedly entered another woman’s home without permission while intoxicated. She was transported to Southwest Memorial Hospital to be treated for severe intoxication, and she reportedly yelled profanities and struggled against officers and medical personnel throughout the process. After she was treated, officers gave her a courtesy ride home.
6:08 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 800 block of North Broadway on suspicion of being intoxicated in a roadway and an open container violation after witnesses reported he was jumping in front of traffic and making obscene gestures at passersby. When approached by responding officers, he reportedly tried to run into the street as a car was approaching, leading the officers to grab him and pull him back. He was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to severe intoxication before being taken to jail.
10:48 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 600 block of South Market Street on suspicion of violating a protection order after the man who had the protection order against her claimed she had come to his residence and tried to punch him. She was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital due to severe intoxication.
Friday, Oct. 13
11:24 a.m.: A man was remanded to the Montezuma County Detention Center from Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St.
2:38 p.m.: A man was arrested at the Cortez Public Library, 202 N. Park St., on a warrant for failure to appear.
8:41 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 200 block of West Seventh Street on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge after the vehicle in which she was a passenger was pulled over for a defective tail light.
