Eduardo Vesazquez Jimenez, 18, of Durango, pleaded guilty to one count of underage drinking and driving. He was sentenced to 12 months private probation, and was ordered to pay $405.50 in fines and costs. Defendant was ordered to obtain an alcohol evaluation through state probation and provide proof to the court. He must follow all conditions of probation, and must complete 24 hours of useful public service/community service by Nov. 18, 2012. All standard conditions of probation apply, including no alcohol or illegal drug use.
MONDAY, MAY 21
Leanderson E. Talk, 36, of Towaoc, pleaded guilty to one count of violation of a protection order. Defendant was sentenced to 180 days in jail with 46 days credit for time served. Jail time is concurrent with case number 10M545. He was also ordered to pay $184.50 in fines and costs.
TUESDAY, MAY 22
Milton W. Korthank, 36, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count of harassment strike/shove/kick and was ordered to pay $237.50 in fines and costs.
Milton W. Korthank, 36, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count of unauthorized use of a financial transaction device. He was ordered to pay $209.50 in fines and costs, and received credit for time served of 15 days. Restitution is open for 90 days.
Geovanni Martinez, 21, of Cortez, pleaded guilty to one count of harassment strike/shove ethn. This sentence is concurrent with case number 11CR87. Defendant received credit for time served of 30 days, and was sentenced to an additional 30 days in jail with suspended imposition. He received an updated sentence 12 months of supervised state probation, and was ordered to pay $857.50 in fines and costs. Defendant must attend intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment and follow all recommendations of provider, including additional mental health recommendations if provider sees it as adequate. He must complete a domestic violence evaluation and follow all recommendations from same, and is required to engage in treatment within 15 days of sentencing or jail release. Defendant must submit to random tests for drug and alcohol use as required by probation. All standard conditions of probation apply, and defendant must follow all conditions of probation, including no alcohol or illegal drug use. Thirty days jail suspended imposition is conditional on completing probation successfully. Defendant shall not contract any financial obligations without approval of his probation officer and/or collections investigator.
Elvina J. Deschene, 37, of Kayenta, Ariz., pleaded guilty to one count of driving while ability impaired. This is defendants first DWAI. She was sentenced to 30 days in jail with suspended imposition, and to 12 months of unsupervised private probation. She was ordered to pay $754.50 in fines and costs. Defendant was ordered to perform 24 hour of useful public service/community service by April 22, 2013. She must obtain an alcohol evaluation from Colorado state probation, and follow all recommendations and provide proof to the court. All standard conditions of probation apply, including no alcohol or illegal drug use. Defendant is to follow all conditions of probation. Restitution is open for 90 days.
